What are the exact dates of the Conference?
The Conference runs Saturday and Sunday, 14-15 October 2017. That's pretty soon, so get your tickets now!
Can I come earlier, or stay longer?
Yes, we'd love to make sure you get to do and see everything you are hoping for. If you're unsure about making your own reservations, simply speak with our preferred travel partner, who can confirm any aspect of your trip anywhere in the country.
Is the entire Conference in Nay Pyi Taw, or is is split between Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw?
The entire two-day conference will be held in the capital city of Nay Pyi Taw. This is to allow our guests to meet with senior government officials in case they wish to commence business in Myanmar. It will be quite easy to spend an extra day or two in Yangon or any other city if you wish. Simply contact our preferred travel partner to plan your details.
Isn't Nay Pyi Taw difficult to get to?
No, it's quite easy, actually. You can book a connecting flight online through Yangon which will take you directly to Nay Pyi Taw International Airport (NPT) from anywhere in the word. You can also book direct nonstop flights daily to Nay Pyi Taw from Thailand, China, and many other locations in Myanmar.
Alternatively, you can also get to Nay Pyi Taw from Yangon by luxury bus for less than USD $10, departing from your hotel. (We plan to run free busses between the cities for our Conference attendees if they wish to take them. You're welcome to join us. Just ask so we can provide you with details once our busses have been scheduled.
A few people prefer to come to Nay Pyi Taw by taxi. If that's your thing, you can ask your hotel to arrange a cab ride or rent a van and driver. The cost for a cab Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw is usually somewhere around USD $150 since it's a five-hour ride.
Finally, a few adventurous souls enjoy coming to Nay Pyi Taw by railroad. The railroad trip from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw will set you back a cool USD $2. But if this is your first time in Myanmar, we don't recommend taking the train, because although rail is an incredibly scenic way to travel, it's not as comfortable for most people as other methods.
If figuring your own way to Nay Pyi Taw seems too complicated, just contact our preferred travel partner, and they'll hook you up without any problems.
I've heard there are no people in Nay Pyi Taw. Is it true?
We've heard that too! But actually, Nay Pyi Taw has about a million and a half people living in it. It not only houses the Parliament, the President's Office, the State Councilor's Office, and 22 Government Ministries, but it also provides offices for the United Nations, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Asian Development Bank, among others.
We have (according to agoda.com) 48 hotels in the city, mostly rated four and five star (but there are actually 64 hotels if you know your way around.) There are countless restaurants, a National Museum, National Library, Fountain Park, Herb Garden, Botanical Garden, a Zoo, a Safari Park, a large number of beautiful Pagodas, a National Villages Park, an olympic sized sports stadium, a professional swimming center, workout gyms, several golf courses, an international airport with daily flights from around the world, a train station, bus stations, a number of international schools and universities, a Gem Museum, a really interesting Defense Services Museum, and a whole lot more.
Perhaps the most unexplored feature of Nay Pyi Taw, however, are the many beautiful and ancient villages that still wind their way through the capital, punctuating our modern structures with a precious reminder of our roots.
